This post was inspired by a short story I heard during a few months ago.

Those words in the picture are basically a summary of what that short story is all about.

Enlightenment is always there.

Small enlightenment will bring great enlightenment.

If you breathe in and are aware that you are alive

– that you can touch the miracle of being alive –

then that is a kind of enlightenment.

~ Thich Nhat Hanh

May it be big or small

As long as it does you good

It is always good to know!

Have a wonderful Friday and wonderful weekend ahead, always!

Till then

Cheers & TTFN~ 😀

To Outsmart or ‘Out-kind’??

CNC-SE004 - WHITE BICYCLE

Education is a continual process, it’s like a bicycle…

If you don’t pedal you don’t go forward.

~ George Weah

Two nights ago, I’ve came across a cute story about “A Man & His Bicycle” and would like to share with you lovely souls out there, especially about the conclusion the story teller gave for this particular story, here goes:

There is a man who always travels to work via his bicycle and would always put it outside his office building without using any lock since he has been doing it for many years.

Old Bike Against Brick Wall Stock Photo

Until one day when he decided to buy a new bicycle and rode it to work as usual,  it was being stolen on the same day.

Without much choice, he has to buy another new bicycle but this time, he bought himself a cable bike lock as well and chained the bicycle to the nearest fence outside the building.

Unfortunately, the bicycle was once again being stolen, with all bicycle parts being dismantled except for the one that was being chained to the fence.

The next day, the man went to work with another new bicycle and this time, he brought along with him 8 metal chains and 8 locks after deciding that a cable lock was simply not enough.

After securing his bicycle with all eight chains and locks, he even left a note to the thief:

Let see How 1

Later in the evening, he quickly rushed to his bicycle and was happy and relieved to see it still being secured to the fence.

As he was happily unlocking those chains one by one, thinking that he had outsmarted the thief, he noticed an extra chain encircling his bicycle to the next fence with an unfamiliar lock attached to it.

As he took a closer look, he found a note sticking to the lock:

Let see How 2

Just like what George Weah had said – Education is a continual process – the story teller threw us this question at the end of the story:

People are always trying to outsmart each other and thus making their lives miserable without knowing they are miserable.

Instead of competing to see who is the smarter one…

WHY NOT JUST BE THE KINDER ONE?

Out-kind

Let us make this continual process of ours a sweet one for both ourselves and to others as well!

May this little story bring a little laughter  (I did LOL when I heard this story)  to all lovely souls out there on this lovely Monday and at the same time, contemplating on the question threw to us by the story teller.

Last but not least, in another one more month and it will be CHRISTMAS!!

ヽ(´▽`)/ YAY ヽ(´▽`)/

Awww….I really missed those days when so many lovely souls were sharing with us their favourite Christmas songs in the comment box of our

“What’s Your Favourite Christmas Song”

AND

ヽ(´ー`)ノ We’ve subsequently made 8 posts sharing out their favourite Christmas songs!!  ヽ(´ー`)ノ

So, just like the opening line in the above post dated 16 Nov 2012

Jingle Bell Rock is my all time favourite Christmas song…

What is your favourite Christmas song?

Care to share?

Do leave a comment and let us know.

Have a wonderful Monday ahead!

Till then,

Dreams Are My Reality…

(Wikipedia) REALITY is the state of things as they actually exist, rather than as they may appear or might be imagined.

REALITY is often contrasted with…

What is imaginary…

Delusional…

(Only) in the mind…

Dreams…

What is False…

What is Fictional…

Or What is Abstract…

BUT, A GENIUS ONCE SAID…

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.
~ Albert Einstein

May it be real, a dream or just an illusion;

we are thankful to have two lovely souls turning our reality into a very lovely dream!

A lovely soul who loves sharing all beautiful things around him.

A reality filled with fragrant and beauty!

petrel41 @ Dear Kitty. Some blog

A lovely soul who loves sharing many things that are now around the world.

A reality filled with awareness!

Now, we would love to make this dedication to a lovely soul who has made this award addressing post possible:

John Drybred @ Drybred Quips

I’ve been visiting this lovely blog for quite a while and John is always very kind to leave us a comment whenever we visited him. It all started with a simple “thank you” comment and now he would sometime share with us his wonderful experiences during his younger days in his lovely comments.

As suggested by the name of this blog, it consists of mainly quips written by John. However, recently he has started trying out some mini fictions and the first one – In and Out – simply etched into my heart and thus we decided to share with you lovely souls in our usual manner 😉

A Big Thank You To John For Making This Post Possible!

We do hope you all would enjoy this story as much as we do:

In And Out (John Drybred)

Life and death are one thread

The same line viewed from different sides.
~ Lao Tzu

The reality of staying alive, is in fact, waiting for death.

It is not the length, but the values learned in life that matter.

So, while we are still alive and kicking

Let’s turn those values into our

R(eal) E(nergizing) A(mazing) L(ovely) I(nspiring) T(ouching) Y(earning)!

We just simply cannot end this post without sharing a song related to “REALITY”!

Do enjoy this lovely song and have a great day ahead, always!

Till then,

Cheers & TTFN~ 😀

Friday Fictioneers – My 101st

100-words Story Challenge

“Good morning.”

A familiar sound was heard.

“No…”

I quickly corrected.

“It should be a great morning!”

“Oh…today is the day?”

The kind lady quipped out.

“Yes!”

I nodded while drying my face with a paper towel.

“I better get your breakfast ready.”

*****

Now seated at my favourite seating,

wondering how I’ve managed during the past one hundred days.

With a fresh new passport safe inside my bag and the last paper coffee cup in my hand.

I watched silently at the plane that will finally take me home.

And soon the sun rose up for the 101st time.

Have a great Friday ahead!

Till then,

Cheers & TTFN

100-words Story Challenge

My writing is a little rusty but I feel kinda inspired by this photo.

So, here goes:

“How are you feeling, my dear?”

“My head hurts a little.”

“It’s normal, my dear.”

“What about you?”

“I feel terrific, don’t you worry, my dear.”

“Yes indeed, I can see how your face glows, glowing with joy.”

“Am I? That’s great, my dear.”

“I am feeling a little sleepy now, what about you?”

“I am still wide awake; I think I am going to take a walk around the garden, my dear.”

“You go ahead; I want to take a nap.”

“Goodbye then, my dear.”

“Goodbye.”

*******

“One of them survived!”

The doctor revealed the outcome to the hopeful parents.

Have a great day ahead!

Till then,

Cheers & TTFN
