To Outsmart or ‘Out-kind’??

Education is a continual process, it’s like a bicycle…

If you don’t pedal you don’t go forward.

~ George Weah

Two nights ago, I’ve came across a cute story about “A Man & His Bicycle” and would like to share with you lovely souls out there, especially about the conclusion the story teller gave for this particular story, here goes:

There is a man who always travels to work via his bicycle and would always put it outside his office building without using any lock since he has been doing it for many years.

Old Bike Against Brick Wall Stock Photo

Until one day when he decided to buy a new bicycle and rode it to work as usual,  it was being stolen on the same day.

Without much choice, he has to buy another new bicycle but this time, he bought himself a cable bike lock as well and chained the bicycle to the nearest fence outside the building.

Unfortunately, the bicycle was once again being stolen, with all bicycle parts being dismantled except for the one that was being chained to the fence.

The next day, the man went to work with another new bicycle and this time, he brought along with him 8 metal chains and 8 locks after deciding that a cable lock was simply not enough.

After securing his bicycle with all eight chains and locks, he even left a note to the thief:

Let see How 1

Later in the evening, he quickly rushed to his bicycle and was happy and relieved to see it still being secured to the fence.

As he was happily unlocking those chains one by one, thinking that he had outsmarted the thief, he noticed an extra chain encircling his bicycle to the next fence with an unfamiliar lock attached to it.

As he took a closer look, he found a note sticking to the lock:

Let see How 2

Just like what George Weah had said – Education is a continual process – the story teller threw us this question at the end of the story:

People are always trying to outsmart each other and thus making their lives miserable without knowing they are miserable.

Instead of competing to see who is the smarter one…

Let us make this continual process of ours a sweet one for both ourselves and to others as well!

May this little story bring a little laughter  (I did LOL when I heard this story)  to all lovely souls out there on this lovely Monday and at the same time, contemplating on the question threw to us by the story teller.

Last but not least, in another one more month and it will be CHRISTMAS!!

Grow Your Moustache and Grow Your Heart

As I was doing my routine blog reading, I came across the word ‘Movember’ in many posts and became curious about this. When I searched the web for it, I found out that this is indeed a great event.

For  people, especially men (who has this ability to grow a moustache) who are not aware of this event, here’s a little insight of what this event is about:

Movember (a portmanteau word from moustache and “November”) is an annual, month-long event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of prostate cancer and other male cancer and associated charities.

Besides getting an annual check-up, the Movember Foundation encourages men to be aware of any family history of cancer, and to adopt a more healthful lifestyle.

Movember moustaches were first grown in Australia back in 2003 and since that time word of Movember and its men’s health messages have spread across the globe.

Held in November, this is the month in which people gather together to grow and compare moustaches.  Participants begin the month clean shaven and cultivate their moustaches throughout the month for this event.

Movember currently runs official campaigns in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada, South Africa, Finland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Spain, Hong Kong, Singapore, France, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and Austria.

The popularity of Movember as a charity has inspired other annual facial hair growing contests across the world, such as No Shave November and Mustache March. Such events are not affiliated with Movember, and are not registered charitable foundations, although some smaller events have been held to raise money or awareness for different charities.

Frankly speaking, I am really not aware of this event if not for all those wonderful blogs that I’ve read during the past few days and the collection that we are launching today is actually moustache-related!!! I guess everything just happens for a reason.

Last but not least, we’ve another two more videos for Your Favourite Christmas Song (Part 4):

My Grown Up Christmas Wishes/List is the favourite Christmas song of  Rabbitcancook

Mary Did You Know  is the favourite Christmas song of Gatesitter

Start The Week With Hope

Lovely quote to start a week….cheers!!

I came across this lovely quote and decided it was fitting for a Sunday post. Every week I like to think that I have been given the chance to start again. If I’ve had a bad week, cheated on my diet, spent too much money on irrelevant things and not made the most of my time – in life or love, I get another shot.

I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you well for the coming week!
Make it better than the last.

develop from the negatives and if things don’t work out, just take another shot.”

“L” is for the way you look at me

We come to love not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly.

– Sam Keen, from To Love and Be Loved

The word “love” can have a variety of related but distinct meanings in different contexts. As a general expression of positive sentiment (a stronger form of like), love is commonly contrasted with hate. When discussed in the abstract, love usually refers to interpersonal love, an experience felt by a person for another person.

Love often involves caring for or identifying with a person or thing including oneself. In addition to cross-cultural differences in understanding love, ideas about love have also changed greatly over time.

Love is sometimes referred to as being the “international language”, overriding cultural and linguistic divisions.

Even when there are tons of words describing what love is in the Wikipedia, people still have this tendency to have complications in their love lives.

What should we do to make it simple a bit?

Perhaps…I mean perhaps the following information extracted from might be able to help us in attaining our simple love:

Understanding what each kiss means:

  • Kiss on the forehead – We are cute together.
  • Kiss on the cheek – We are friends.
  • Kiss on the hand – I adore you.
  • Kiss on the neck – I want you, now!
  • Kiss on the shoulder – You are perfect.
  • Kiss on the lips – I LOVE YOU!

Understanding what each gesture means:

  • Holding hands – We definitely like each other.
  • Holding while pressing tightly against one another – I want you!
  • Looking into each other’s eyes – I like you for who you are.
  • Playing with hair – Let’s fool around!
  • Having arms around the waist – I like you too much to let you go!
  • Laughing while kissing – I am completely comfortable with you.

When love turns complicated, make it simple…and here’s a song to share with you~

Have fun reading and hope you enjoy the nice weekend ahead!

What Causes A Doctor His Bread?

CNC-SE001 - RED APPLE“An apple a day keeps the doctor away.”

According to ‘America’s Popular Proverbs and Sayings’ by Gregory Titelman, this expression was first found as a Welsh folk proverb in 1866:

‘Eat an apple before going to bed, and you’ll keep the doctor from earning his bread’.

Besides the above mentioned background for this saying, it is also believed to have come from an ancient Roman proverb since they truly believed the apple had magical powers to cure illnesses.

Whether an apple  is forbidden or magical, here are 9 hard facts/reasons why an apple really keeps the doctor away:

  • Apple contains Vitamin C, a vitamin that helps our immune system
  • Apples are rich in flavonoid, which helps prevent both coronary heart disease and cardiovascular disease
  • A regular size apple has between 70-100 calories.
  • Apples target multiple cancers such as colon cancer, prostate cancer and breast cancer in women.
  • Apples contain phenols, which reduces bad cholesterol and increases good cholesterol.
  • The juice of the apples has properties that can kill up to 80% of bacteria.
  • Apple has substances called phytonutrients, which prevents neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinsonism.
  • A research at the University of Nottingham Research shows that people who eat 5 apples or more per week has lower respiratory problems, including asthma.
  • Their taste can vary greatly, but still give you all the apple benefits. Variety is an important element to maintaining your health.

Now, you can have apples on your ear to keep those…hmm…ear-bugs away? 😛

What does a woman need?

A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle

A feminist slogan, suggesting that men are superfluous to women’s needs.

(Origin) This slogan is often attributed to Gloria Steinem. Other claims for origination point to Florynce Kennedy, or to an anonymous author who painted the slogan on a wall at University of Wisconsin in 1969.

In fact, it was Irina Dunn, a distinguished Australian educator, journalist and politician, coined the phrase back in 1970 when she was a student at the University of Sydney.

(The Phrase Finder,

Man: I need a bicycle

Seller: For your kid?

Man: Nope, for my wife.
