THIS IS A CONFESSION POST
At times, when the things that you’ve said or done are being totally misunderstood by others?
Have you ever wonder?
Whose fault is this?
Yours or the one who misunderstood you?
Most of the time, we might be in denial because deep inside because we knew that was not what we’ve meant in the first place.
There’s a saying in Chinese:
凡人畏果,菩萨畏因
A human is afraid of the consequence only after performing an action,
whereas the Bodhisattva starts thinking of the consequence before performing an action.
Yesterday, I’ve made a remark about an incident when I could choose to zip my lips and continue whatever I was doing.
It wasn’t any bad remark and the one who heard it didn’t really mind since we’ve been in the same group for many years and knew each other well enough to know that it was only a joking remark.
However, a person from another group had misunderstood my remark as a rebuttal and told Lovable Mom about it.
I felt really bad
Not because that person has misunderstood me
BUT FOR THE FACT THAT
I WAS THE ONE
Who has caused all those unnecessary misunderstandings.
Perhaps I have not been doing enough self-reflection and thus gotten carried away at times.
This might be a sign telling me that I should start doing it more often in the future.
Found this picture at Ajaytao’s lovely blog and I am glad to be able to come out with some words of self-reminder in the following picture:
As always, I would like to thank Ajaytao for sharing with us so many wonderful and inspirational information.
It is when you lose sight of yourself, that you lose your way.
To keep your truth in sight you must keep yourself in sight and the world to you should be a mirror to reflect to you your image;
the world should be a mirror that you reflect upon.
~ C. JoyBell C.
As I’ve mentioned in the first line of this post, this is my confession in order to become a better person than yesterday.
If you’ve been reading until this line, thank you for shining your light on me via your lovely readership supports.
My Monday may be a little gloomy, but I am sure the rest of the day would be marvelous, just like all other Mondays.
So, may you lovely souls have a Marvelous Monday ahead too!
Till then,
Cheers & TTFN~ 😀

I see a lost little boy who needs his mummy, a child who constantly runs away when things get too difficult.

I love this post!! Not so long ago I had the same experience and I felt really bad being the creator of a misunderstanding. What made me feel better afterwards was that one of my friends asked me if I didn`t notice that out of almost 25 people around me, it was only one person that misunderstood me. Sometimes people only hear what they want to hear and you can keep explaining them, but if they hold on to their own illusions you won`t change their mind. So I learned to focus on those that really “listen”to me. 🙂 Thanks a lot for sharing and sorry for the long comment.

I enjoyed reading this post and seeing your thoughts on self-refelction. It is only when we are willing to go deep inside and reconsider what we’ve done so that we can change it that we begin to grow in our evolvement as people.
Namaste …

I understand how you feel. Sometimes as we say here in England “people get the wrong end of the stick” – if you never said anything wrong, then you shouldn’t have to justify anything. Some people out there have nothing better to do than gossip.

Thank you so much for reading this post and sharing the same sentiment, my friend.
Yes indeed…but wouldn’t it be better if we can prevent putting out the stick that they might get the wrong end? Hehehe…
Lots of things to learn in order to become a better person…hehe…
