蝼 蚁 尚 且 贪 生

lóu yǐ shàng qiě tān shēng

The above is a Chinese saying to remind us that even a tiny weeny creature like an ant will fight at all cost in order to stay alive.

Being a human, shouldn’t one cherish his/her life even more?

Just a gentle reminder, this post may not be as cheery as my previous posts.

Do proceed reading at your own risk.

10 years ago while walking down the recovery path, away from my 7-year depression, via fan-fiction writings; I’ve written two poems inspired by a row of marching ants.

As a matter of fact, I’ve already forgotten about these poems until I re-visited the website which is storing all my writings.

I am not a poet and I don’t think I am qualified to be one, just wanting to share these two poems with you lovely souls.

The first poem is about the life of an ant living in an urban residential area.

Together With (Poem) - 23-1-2013

The second poem is about a surviving ant from the ‘massacre’ mentioned in the first poem.

I’ve broken it into two parts because of its length.

The Ordeal (Poem) Part 1 - 23-1-2013

The Ordeal (Poem) Part 2 - 23-1-2013

After you have wept and grieved for your physical losses

Cherish the functions and the life you have left

~ Morrie Schwartz

Perhaps not as cheery as before, I do hope you all enjoy reading this post.

Till then,

Cheers & TTFN!
