In Buddhism the lotus flower is known to be associated with purity, spiritual awakening and faithfulness.

It grows in muddy water, and it is this environment that gives forth the flower’s first and most literal meaning:

RISING AND BLOOMING ABOVE THE MURK TO ACHIEVE ENLIGHTENMENT

Anybody who has ever observed a lotus flower emerging from a murky pond cannot fail to see the beauty of this exquisite plant.

Just a few days ago, I’ve received a forwarded e-mail containing a lovely poem from a lovely soul, Linda. I did a search on the authenticity of this e-mail before deciding whether I should forward it to my friends.

Unfortunately, it had turned out to be a charity hoax chain letter. Despite the murkiness caused by the hoax, what Linda saw was a lotus emerging from the murky water.

I would like to quote part of her reply when I informed her that this is actually a hoax:

Since some version or another has been passed around since 1997 or earlier, It definitely at least shows that people really care about each other.

Since the poem is such a gem to Linda, I’ve decided to dedicate this post to her and of course, sharing this lovely poem with you lovely souls out there.

Without further adieu, here’s the poem:

Slow Dance - Part 1

Slow Dance - Part 2

Slow Dance - Part 3

Should you want to know more in detail what the charity hoax is about just in case you might receive it  in your mailbox, here are some links for your information:

Are you still breathing?

At times, we are taking our breathing for granted; only to realize we’ve been so busy and forgotten to breathe just when that sudden short of breath occurs.

So, please start slowing down and don’t dance too fast.

May you all enjoy reading this post and have a lovely Wednesday ahead!

Till then,

Cheers & TTFN~
